If your thinking about upgrading to mains pressure hot water or need a replacement hot water cylinder then this is something you need to take into consideration.

You have more than one option when it comes to location of your water heater. In my professional opinion I always recommend putting a new hot water cylinder under the house where possible. This way it's out of the way and very close to the main spine of your pipework meaning you'll get your hot water faster there for mating it more efficient. If under your home isn't an option you have to weigh up if it's more important for you to reclaim the space your cylinder was taking up or it's more important for you to get slightly faster hot water. As far as energy consumption goes you will hardly notice the difference, the insulation of newer model cylinders is so good that it won't matter that it's outside.

If your thinking about upgrading from low pressure be aware that the newer cylinder will take up far more space and expel far less heat from it's casing due to needing to go up is size because you'll be using more hot water and the new efficiency so this isn't a good reason to leave the cylinder inside.
